  14. 1. DESCRIPTION- CBGrid enhanced Grid Component for Delphi 1 & 2
  15. ===============================================================
  16. An enhanced Grid component which includes the ability to sort
  17. TTable and TQuery columns. Sorting can be ascending or descending in
  18. order. Easily accomplished by clicking on the column title. This grid
  19. can be printed by using either of the separately available products
  20. (Printit or Reportit) from Calitz Bros. Includes help and keyword files.

  22. This copy of  CBGrid displays a UNREGISTERED COPY OF CBGrid message on the
  23. screen if not registered. If you register, you will receive an activation
  24. code that disables the nag screen.

  43. 2. DEFINITION OF SHAREWARE

  46. Shareware distribution gives users a chance to try software before buying it.
  47. If you try a Shareware program and continue using it, you are expected to
  48. register. Individual programs differ on details -- some request registration
  49. while others require it, some specify a maximum trial period. With registration
  50. , you get anything from the simple right to continue using the software to an
  51. updated program with printed manual.

  53. Copyright laws apply to both Shareware and commercial software, and the
  54. copyright holder retains all rights, with a few specific exceptions as
  55. stated below. Shareware authors are accomplished programmers, just like
  56. commercial authors, and the programs are of comparable quality. (In both
  57. cases, there are good programs and bad ones!) The main difference is in
  58. the method of distribution. The author specifically grants the right to
  59. copy and distribute the software, either to all and sundry or to a specific
  60. group. For example, some authors require written permission before a commercial
  61. disk vendor may copy their Shareware.

  63. Shareware is a distribution method, not a type of software. You should find
  64. software that suits your needs and pocketbook, whether it's commercial or
  65. Shareware. The Shareware system makes fitting your needs easier, because you
  66. can try before you buy. And because the overhead is low, prices are low also.

  68. product, you don't pay for it.

  71. 3. DISCLAIMER - AGREEMENT

  74. Users of CBGrid must accept this disclaimer of warranty: "CBGrid is supplied
  75. as is.  The author disclaims all warranties, expressed or implied, including,
  76. without limitation, the warranties of merchantability and of fitness for any
  77. purpose. The author assumes no liability for damages, direct or consequential,
  78. which may result from the use of CBGrid." CBGrid is a "shareware product"
  79. and is provided at no charge to the user for evaluation.  Feel free to share
  80. it with your friends, but please do not give it away when registered. The
  81. essence of "user-supported" software is to provide personal computer users
  82. with quality software without high prices, and yet to provide incentive for
  83. programmers to continue to develop new products.  If you find this product
  84. useful and find that you are using CBGrid and continue to use CBGrid after
  85. a reasonable trial period, you must register it with Calitz Bros. through Kagi
  86. software or Compuserve.  This registration fee will license one copy for use
  87. on any one computer at any one time. The registration and the activation code
  88. will be valid for future minor upgrades,  bug fixes and enhancements to
  89. CBGrid Version 5.x.   When we have received your payment,  we will e-mail,
  90. fax or post your activation code to you. You must treat this software just
  91. like a book.  An example is that this software may be used by any number of
  92. people and may be freely moved from one computer location to another, so long
  93. as there is no possibility of it being used at one location while it's being
  94. used at another. Just as a book cannot be read by two different persons at
  95. the same time. Programs developed by using the CBGrid components may be
  96. distributed without any additional royalties.

  98. Commercial users of CBGrid must register and pay for their copies of CBGrid
  99. within 30 days of first use or their license is withdrawn.

  101. Anyone distributing CBGrid for any kind of remuneration must first contact
  102. Calitz Bros. at the address below for authorization. This authorization will
  103. be automatically granted to shareware distributors, and such distributors
  104. may begin offering CBGrid immediately (However Calitz Bros. must still be
  105. advised so that the distributor can be kept up-to-date with the latest version
  106. of CBGrid.).

  108. CBGrid has a nag screen which displays when CBGrid is not registered. If
  109. registered then this nag screen will dissapear.
  110.  
  111. You are encouraged to pass a copy of CBGrid along to your friends for
  112. evaluation.  Please encourage them to register their copy if they find
  113. that they can use it.

  116. 4. THE ZIP FILES
  117. ----------------
  118. CBGrid consists of the following files:

  120. 1. PRTGRD.ZIP which contains
  121.    GRDCP_16.ZIP - The 16-bit components for Delphi 1.x
  122.    GRDCP_32.ZIP - The 32-bit components for Delphi 2.x
  123.    GRDHLP.ZIP   - The .HLP and .KWF files
  124.    HISTORY.LOG  - The history logfile of the grid
  125.    README.1ST   - This readme file
  126.    REGISTER.ZIP - The register file
  127. 2. REGISTER.ZIP - Register and Activation programs.

  129. GRDCP_16.ZIP and GRDCP_32.ZIP must be extracted into separate directories.

  131. 5. INSTALLING CBGrid COMPONENTS
  132. --------------------------------
  133.  
  134. 5.1. Backup the component library file named COMPLIB.DCL in your \DELPHI\BIN
  135. directory.  This will allow you to restore your component library if you
  136. encounter any problems during the installation process.
  137.  
  138. 5.2. Start DELPHI and select Options | Install Components from the menu.
  139. Click on the Add button when the Install Components dialog is displayed.
  140.  
  141.      To install CBGrid,
  142.  
  143.             Click on the Browse button and select the file CBGrid.PAS
  144.             in the directory where CBGrid  was extracted
  145.  
  146. 5.3. Click on OK to return to the Install Components Dialog Box and click
  147. on OK to accept the changes.  DELPHI will now install the new components.
  148. A new page will be created on the component bar called  CBros that contains
  149. the new component.

  152. 6. INSTALLING THE KEYWORD HELP (To access from Delphi)
  153. ------------------------------------------------------
  154.  
  155. 6.1.    Execute the file  HELPINST.EXE  in the \DELPHI\HELP directory.
  156.  
  157. 6.2.    Select  File | Open  from the menu.
  158.  
  159. 6.3.    Open the file  DELPHI.HDX  in the  \DELPHI\BIN directory.
  160.  
  161. 6.4.    Select  Keywords |Add  Keyword file from the menu.
  162.  
  163. 6.5.    Select the file  CBGrid.KWF  in the directory where the
  164.         files were extracted.
  165.  
  166. 6.6.    Select  File | Save from the menu.

  169. Note:  To access help from the demos - Copy the help file named CBGrid.HLP
  170. in the CBGrid directory to your windows directory.

  173. 7. REMOVING CBGrid COMPONENTS
  174. ------------------------------

  176. 7.1.  Start DELPHI and select Options | Install Components from the menu.
  177. Click on the CBGrid unit (to remove CBGrid) and then on the Remove button.
  178.  
  179. 7.2.  Click on OK to remove the components from the component bar.
  180.  
  181. 7.3.    Remove the directory where CBGrid was installed.

  183. 7.4.  Remove the icons and group from the Print Manager screen

  186. 8. GENERAL INFORMATION

  189. CBGrid sells for $US50 without source code and $US100 if the source code
  190. is included. We reserve the right to change prices without notice.
